Ferguson plough1916 plough - "The Belfast Plough"

Known as the Belfast Plough, this was the result of Harry Ferguson's inventive streak, assisted by Willie Sands' engineering ability. It was designed for use with the Eros, a tractor conversion of the Ford Model T car.

By 1917 the plough was ready for demonstration as the first wheel-less plough. The first demonstration took place at Coleraine in front of the farming public. The new wheel-less plough for which great claims had been put forward, had made its very first appearance. The plough production model cost £28.00.

On the arrival of the Fordson Model "F" Willie Sands made a very clever conversion kit, so that the plough could be fitted to this tractor.
